Residents Blast City For Continued Inaction On Dangerous 17th Street Muni Tracks

hoodline – comments only

Ok. I can’t find any part of this story to repeat. I will just write my own comments and link to the original so people can figure it out for themselves… (more )

Basically we have cyclists complaining about how dangerous it is to cycle near Muni tracks. Someone should inform them that it is SFMTA’s job to promote Muni over all over modes of transit to pay for Muni and the many other transit programs and projects they Muni and the SFMTA promotes.

  1. The plan here is removal of parking from church to 17th/Castro market. And or possibly just closing off the streets. Now we all know the tracks will still be there. This is a bs story that’s only going to get bigger as reasoning for changing the street. Of course they’ve always had the plans but they were kissing a story which has just begun. Not likely they will make those designs public just yet. It will either happen at the time when they implement the upper market street design or after it’s completion.

Those that know how to ride across the tracks have no problems. However we have idiot bike riders blaming their stupidity on tracks. It’s only a matter of time before a jack ass bike rider puts blame on the double yellow lines.
